Mike Greenlar is an on-location, editorial photographer covering the Upstate New York and Northeast area for many of the leading national magazines and corporate publications. He has been freelancing for the past 15 years and has over six years of newspaper experience. His pictures have been published in Life, Time and The New York Times Magazine. He has won numerous awards from both the New York and Ilinois Press Associations, two Light Work Grants and an Award of Excellence from Communications Arts. His photo essay subjects have included: the charcoal industry in Haiti, apartheid in South Africa, a three generation traditional Algonquin family in the Canadian bush, and Native American lacrosse. His current work in progress is titled "Remnants of a Secret War" and explores post war Laos with emphasis on unexploded bombs and a resiliant Hmong culture.
